If you watched any of the Florida State and Clemson game Saturday night, you knew it was a blowout right from the jump. Although I thought this was going to be an easy candidate for game of the year, it really wasn't a challenge for the Seminoles at all, as they manhandled the #3 team in the country 51-14 as if they were a no-name school from Montana or somewhere nobody ever talks about.
Anyway, this weeks' AP Top 10 standings look like this:
- Florida State
- Ohio State
- Miami (FL)
- Texas Tech
And just for kicks, jumping 13 spots to #11, is the Auburn Tigers after knocking off that team with Johnny Manziel.. Oh yeah, Texas A and freakin' M! Props to them, or as fellow TruSchoolSports writer Anton Joe would say:
Anyway, back to the point of this article. I once again took to the Tru School Sports Twitter account, and asked a simple question.
Florida St with their Heisman front runner Jameis Winston are ranked at #2. Can they stop 'Bama?

@TruSchoolSports I say yes, even though I wrote this.

@TruSchoolSports I don't think so

Obviously, the top one was sent by yours truly, but I got one yes and one no from fellow TSS writer Brian Rzeppa. After one game am I completely sold on FSU? No, but they did beat my pick for the #2 spot by the end of the year. I do believe, though, that Florida State could match up with ALABAMA.
Yes, I do mean the Alabama that will win the BCS Championship Game, but.. will they? Jameis Winston is a serious Heisman contender, and he is a seriously good player. Do I think he jumps from the gate and beats out Alabama right now? No, but is it possible? YES.
I'm shocked the Florida State didn't beat out Oregon in the BCS standings, although I think an Oregon versus Florida State would be the same result as the game when the Seminoles knocked off an Oregon like fast-paced Clemson.
Jameis Winston is the best quarterback in the nation right now, after he beat out the second-best Tajh Boyd of Clemson. A.J. McCarron of Alabama is still in the mix, but when you look at strength of schedule and what Florida State has been doing, they are the best team in the nation, and we will see that later in December and January.
