WWE Battleground 2013: Full Predictions

On October 6th, 2013 WWE will debut a brand new PPV: Battleground. Some people belive that the card for this pay-per-view isnt the greatest, some are fans of this card. Either way I feel something will surprise us at this event, I have a strange feeling. Either way we will see a new World-Champion because a new WWE champion will be crowned due to the titles vacancy. Here are my full predictions for the debut of WWE Battleground and a few quick thoughts on each match.

(Order of matches isn't the order of the actual matches for the PPV)

Battleground kickoff match- Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow (Singles match)
- Sandow has been on a losing streak as of late and don't expect creative to make it anything less. The losing streak is part of his build up to cashing in his money in the bank briefcase, it is an odd approach to a title but that seems to be what WWE is going for here. This will be a solid match as Ziggler can always please the crowd with his in ring and on mic abilities.
WINNER- Dolph Ziggler

Intercontinental championship Match- Curtis Axel (C) (with Paul Heyman) vs. R-Truth (singles match)
- Curtis Axel seems to be the underachiever of the "Paul Heyman guys" over the past two weeks due to Ryback's push back into the spotlight in his feud with CM Punk. But that wont get in the way of him getting a pretty easy victory over R-Truth and retaining the Intercontinental title. Truth will have his moments but Axel will ultimately prevail.
WINNER- Curtis Axel

Kofi Kingston vs. Bray Wyatt (With Erick Rowan and Luke Harper)- Singles match
- Kofi once again will be put in a match to make someone look better, sometimes you start to question if this guy will ever get into the world title spotlight. The always creepy Bray Wyatt will prevail in the match up and call in his disciples Rowan and Harper after the match. He will deliver his finishing move "Sister Abagail" and then cut a solid promo, will it be on Kane? We will have to wait and see to find out! Either way this will be a solid match.
WINNER- Bray Wyatt (With Erick Rowan and Luke Harper)

Divas Championship match- AJ Lee (C) vs. Brie Bella (Singles Match)
- It is not the Total Divas show that has brought the Divas division on a rise of late, they have a factor but the most recent success of the Divas division has to go to AJ Lee. There hasnt been a Diva as good as her on the mic ever since...wait, she might actually be the best Diva on the mic ever! If WWE was to give the title to one of the Bellas at this moment in time it would be a shame. AJ Lee seals the deal with her finisher and then cuts a promo on the divas in the ring. Either that or she gets into a fight with another diva after the match.

CM Punk vs. Ryback (with Paul Heyman)- Singles match
- This match honestly could go to either guy with the way this fued is going. Punk is still at the top of the WWE and he rarely loses, but then again Ryback is being built up in this feud and it would be hard for me to imagine that Punk will get retrobution on Heyman and Ryback this early in the feud. The match will have its high points for both Punk and Ryback but Ryback will finish Punk off with either some cheap shot or interference from Heyman or a distraction and then a Ryback finisher.
WINNER- Ryback

Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro (With Zeb Colter) vs. Santino Marella and The Great Khali
- This match was one of those ones added to the card at the last moment and I am pretty sure it was announced last night. Nobody will be impressed withg this match at all. Anything involving both Khali and Santino seems to be a joke now of days. Santino has his moments where he looks like he can actually win it but "The Real Americans" seal the deal with a victory either of a Swagger or Cesaro finisher. They have actually sort of been winning as of late so I think they will get this match. WE THE PEOPLE!
WINNER- Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger "The Real Americans" (With Zeb Colter)

Goldust and Cody Rhodes (With Dusty Rhodes) vs. The Shield (Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins)- Tag team match with multiple circumstances
First before I give my prediction for this match lets take a quick look at the circumstances for this traditional tag team matchup.

If Rhodes Brothers WIN-  If Cody and Dustin (Goldust) win then they will be reinstated by WWE
If Rhodes Brothers LOSE-If The Shield wins, Dusty will lose his job as an NXT trainer and the Rhodes family will be banned from the WWE.
- The Shield I feel haven't really been on their "game" so to speak as of late, usually the ones to surround the ring and torment someone it seems that over the past few weeks The Shield have been the ones getting attacked. With so much on the line for the Rhodes family its hard to see that they will lose this match up. Cody is still very much on the WWE roster (kayfabe fired) and he was scheduled to be back full time after his wedding. The Rhodes family will NEVER be banned from the WWE and that's what does the trick in this match for me. Goldust and Cody will get their jobs back (But isn't that weird because Goldust wasn't working for the WWE when this feud started!). This match is straight up the Rhodes vs. The McMahons! Instant classic! Its going to be one hell of a match!
WINNER- Cody Rhodes and Goldust (The Rhodes Brothers)

World-Heavyweight Championship match- Alberto Del Rio (C) vs. RVD (with Ricardo Rodriguez)- Battleground hardcore match
- This match will be one hell of a fight! With RVD's extreme rules and hardcore background back at ECW (E-C-DUB! E-C-DUB! Ya that chant is awesome, you'll hear it during the match!) this gives him the upper hand in this match. But you never know what WWE will do with ADR! This guy always seems to get the upper hand in his matches! He has ALWAYS been in the spotlight and to be honest with you...I think he is a boring champion. Both RVD and Del Rio have their hardcore moments in this match but RVD will prevail and become the new World Heavyweight Champion!
WINNER- RVD (New World Heavyweight Champion)

but wait...

World Heavyweight Championship match- RVD (C) vs. Damien Sandow (cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase)
- After a long wait for this moment many fans have been speculating just when Sandow will cash in the briefcase. After this long hard fought hardcore match how could the opportunity not get any better for a cash in? Del Rio will be hurt on the outside of the ring and RVD will slowly celebrate with his new title as he appears to be shaken up after the long match. Sandow's music hits and he comes to cash it in. RVD actually fights Sandow to the point of actually winning but Sandow hits his finisher and ultimately wins and becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion! This will be his first title in his time with WWE. I honestly could also see them making him lose the match but a win is more likely!
WINNER- Damien Sandow (New World Heavyweight Champion)

WWE Championship Match- Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan- For the vacant WWE championship
- We have seen a side of Randy Orton bringing back memories of his time with Legacy in recent weeks after taking out the Miz as the main reason . His crazy, violent, and unforgiving persona seems to have returned. The whole point of the Mchmahons (or WWE creative) giving him the push as the "Face" of the WWE was to make him the best in the buisness, and why would he only get one crappy title reign for the type of spotlight and praise hes getting from Triple H? Bryan is a beast and clearly a better option for the WWE as champion but in the "Best for buisness" feud thats not going to cut it. Bryan once again will either get screwed out of the title or will get distracted and then hit by and RKO from Orton. Where will the feud escalate to after this match? I here the two will have one more match at Hell in a Cell, then I also am hearing rumors Orton will go into a feud with Big Show. Is next PPV Bryans chance to grab the title for more than 1 day? Cant wait to see this match!
WINNER- Randy Orton (New WWE champion)

Damien Sandow- New World Heavyweight Champion
Randy Orton- New WWE Champion
- Yes, this is the first time in awhile that WWE will have new champions with both major titles in the same night, but it makes perfect sense!

BEST MATCH- Rhodes Brothers (Cody and Goldust) vs. The Shield (Reigns and Rollins)

WORST MATCH- Curtis Axel (with Paul Heyman) vs. R-Truth

- Fans will give Battleground low standards going into the show but will come out more surprised than unimpressed. The non main card matches wont really impress and will draw this PPV from an 7.5 to a 7. Most of these matches you can see on Raw, Smackdown, or even Main Event. The matches that strike me as PPV quality matches include Punk vs. Ryback, Rhodes Brother vs. The Shield, and Orton vs. Bryan. Other than that the matches aren't all that great. Im not a big fan of the RVD vs. ADR match, never been a fan of Del Rio's feuds.

-Thanks for reading everyone! I hope you enjoyed! Comment below if you would want me to do a prediction article for all of the WWE PPV's! And of course comment your picks below!
