Giovanni Bernard : Should I Start or Should I Sit Now
Giovanni Bernard the rookie running back out of North Carolina, has been a hit or miss fantasy pick through the first six weeks of the season. Bernard, who leads all rookies with 438 total yards, has continued to split time with Benjarvus Green-Ellis .The former Patriot ,in his second season as the starting running back, has cut into the production of the first running back taken in the 2013 draft.
Looking at "Red Zone " stats they would lead you to believe thar Green-Ellis is far and away the lead back ,but digging a little deeper you see that Bernard with his pass catching ability is becoming an important part of the Bengals offense and without a doubt this trend will continue.
Bernard ,averaging 11.3 points in standard scoring leagues and 14.6 in PPR leagues looks good on paper, has become a hit or miss due to match ups .The" Law Firm " has taken away valuable snaps from the future # 1 RB and this has made " Gio" a tough call.
The Bengals future looks bright at running back with the Bernard/Green-Ellis combo, but with fantasy owners not so much .Play Bernard at your own peril
In one league I benched him and it cost me the only 2 losses in that league .So should I start or should I sit him ? Start'em I Am.
